Well, I hope you're having fun paying taxes every year, because then at least the whole thing would be a two-way street. Because some of your Members of Congress are sure having fun thinking of ways to raise your taxes!

In the context of the hotly contested health care debate, and in light of the CBO score, Members of Congress are looking for "revenue options" and "offsets" (i.e. tax increases) to fund their costly health care plans - and are apparently having a good time doing it. According to yesterday's Congress Daily AM edition (subscription):

OMB Director Orszag presented committee staffers with a list of policy ideas and offsets over the weekend. Baucus described the list of options as "interesting, they're creative; some are kind of fun," but did not offer details.

So first Hoyer laughs at the idea of reading the bills they vote on and now this. Forget most ethical congress ever - they should go for most glib.
